Scott Slater Vice President, Practice Management & Consulting Fidelity Investments

Scott Slater is vice president of Practice Management & Consulting for Fidelity Custody & Clearing Solutions. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals.

In this role, Mr. Slater helps advisors to identify and address strategic challenges critical to achieving high performance and growth and has worked directly with hundreds of firms nationally. He is a frequent speaker on practice management issues at industry conferences and has published many reports on the affluent investor, financial advisors and mergers and acquisitions. He leads Fidelity’s M&A initiative, including the M&A Leaders Forum, and hosts the podcast, “Future Ready through M&A”.

Mr. Slater brings over 20 years of experience in the wealth management industry to his role. Prior to joining Fidelity in 2015, Mr. Slater was for eight years managing director of Charles Schwab’s national business consulting practice, where he built and led a team of experienced consultants working with advisors. Before that, he was managing director of Metavante’s wealth management consulting practice, as well as a director for the Spectrem Group, a national consulting firm focused on the affluent and retirement markets. Additionally, he was senior vice president and general manager of American Express Personal Trust Services. He began his career in consumer product marketing at General Mills and led several marketing departments for Norwest Bank (now Wells Fargo).

Mr. Slater earned his bachelor of arts degree at Dartmouth College and his master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Management.

Anand Sekhar Vice President, Practice Management & Consulting Fidelity Investments

Anand Sekhar is vice president of practice management and consulting for Fidelity Clearing and Custody Solutions. In this role, his mission is to be a catalyst for transformation for businesses and employees. As a strategic business consultant to clients and contributor to Fidelity’s Practice Management program, he helps lead the direction and development of advisor tools, whitepapers and resources in the areas of client experience, strategic planning, and talent strategies.

Prior to his current role, Anand spent several years in roles in Fidelity’s retirement division and as part of a mid-level leadership development program rotating across the firm.

Prior to joining Fidelity in 2004, Mr. Sekhar worked for several years at Procter & Gamble helping launch Charmin into Canada and Latin America.

Mr. Sekhar received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Masters of Business Administration from Babson College.

Gwendaline Mazzara Vice President, Practice Management & Consulting Fidelity Investments

Gwendaline Mazzara is Vice President, Practice Management & Consulting at Fidelity Institutional, which offers clearing, custody and investment management products to help financial professionals, institutions and other intermediaries service their clients and grow their businesses.

In her role, she conducts client and prospect consulting engagements on a variety of topics, including brand and digital marketing, go-to-market launch, and sales strategy, as well as facilitates advisor access to Fidelity resources and education. Prior to joining Fidelity, she served as Managing Director for a boutique market research firm serving alternative investment firms, where she was responsible for leading a team and building out European sales and marketing operations. She also served as a Senior Sales Executive for a large Fintech firm, selling front-middle-back offices systems to asset managers. She started her career in Silicon Valley, working in both tech startups and Fortune 500 consumer product companies, such as Mattel and Sony, growing and managing international sales, product development and channel marketing. Mazzara holds a BA from Smith College and an MBA from UC Berkeley.

Jonathan Habbershon Vice President, Family Engagement Consultant Fidelity Investments

Jonathan Habbershon is a vice president and family engagement consultant with Family Office Services at Fidelity Investments. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals.

In this role, Mr. Habbershon is a subject-matter expert, facilitator, and coach responsible for assisting families and their advisors in surfacing and navigating developmental opportunities around money, wealth, and estate planning by linking those opportunities to their long-term financial well-being.

Prior to joining Fidelity in 2019, Mr. Habbershon led the operations, client relationships, and strategic partnerships for The Telos Group. Previously, he founded The Weymouth River Group, a consulting firm focused on developing processes that bring stability to the family enterprise. He also played a role in the research and selection of program offerings for The S. Dale High Center for Family Business at Elizabethtown College.

Mr. Habbershon earned his bachelor of science degree in entrepreneurship from Grove City College and his master of business administration degree in strategic design from Jefferson University (formerly Philadelphia University).
