Jon joined Global X in 2017. He and his team shape the firm’s market outlook, leads the construction of model portfolios, crafts the firm’s investment strategy, and contributes to the development of ETF products. As portfolio managers, Jon and his team use a top-down approach to investing, focusing on macro level trends implementing their investment strategy through the use of broad based and more narrowly focused ETFs. Jon has 25 years of experience on Wall Street, most recently as the lead Model Portfolio Strategist at Merrill Lynch managing their ETF model portfolio business within its CIO Office. Prior to managing Merrill’s ETF model portfolio business, Jon was the Senior Closed-end Fund Research analyst within Bank of America-Merrill Lynch Global Research. Prior to joining Bank of America-Merrill Lynch, Jon was the lead Research Analyst covering Closed-end Funds and BDCs at UBS and its predecessor firm, PaineWebber. While at PaineWebber/UBS, Jon worked in structuring closed-end fund IPOs and subsequently covering new funds. Jon has authored many papers on Closed-end funds and ETFs, has appeared on Reuters, Bloomberg, CNBC, Cheddar TV, Yahoo TV and is often quoted in leading financial publications including The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s.
