Matthew Witkos, Managing Director and Head of North America Sales for Morgan Stanley Investment Management, joined Julie Cooling, Founder and CEO of RIA Channel, to discuss the firm’s new Alternatives Investing Center.
Morgan Stanley Investment Management is launching the Alternatives Investing Center educational platform. Witkos notes that advisors are curious about the asset classes available in private markets and how they complement public market investments. The curriculum covers the basics of hedge funds, private equity, private credit, and real estate, and how these investments can be accessed. The goal of the educational platform is to give advisors confidence in their knowledge and discussions of alternative investments, while earning Continuing Education (CE) credits.
Witkos states that the opportunity to combine holdings across public and private markets will continue to grow as managers offer innovative structures that increase access for a larger number of investors. Morgan Stanley’s deep experience in both public and private markets allows the firm to lead education on how to construct portfolios that include private markets.
The first class takes place Tuesday, October 7th at 11:00 am ET: Portfolio Construction and Asset Allocation and offers 2 CFP, IWI, and CFA Continuing Education credits. The session discusses how portfolios can be built to reflect the specific characteristics and needs of each investor.
Eaton Vance is launching the Tax Forward Investing Center. This platform educates advisors on topics such as tax deferral, vehicle selection, charitable giving, and concentrated wealth.
