MAI Capital Management’s Brandon Bleile On The Value Of An Advisory Platform

Brandon Bleile, Portfolio Manager and Director at MAI Capital Management, joined Julie Cooling, Founder and CEO of RIA Channel, to discuss the services provided by larger firms that enable advisors to focus on client relationships rather than the tasks of running a business.

MAI Capital Management provides a comprehensive suite of client services, encompassing financial planning, estate planning, investment management, tax services, bill payment, and philanthropic support. The firm specializes in serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.

Bleile participates in a variety of investment decisions, including manager research and asset allocation.  MAI maintains an approved list of managers who have completed the firm’s due diligence process.

Bleile notes that it is challenging for a small RIA to work with clients in addition to all of the other tasks of running a business. MAI Capital Management has acquired several small RIA firms, enabling those advisors to focus on client relationships while the firm handles business tasks such as HR, back-office operations, and compliance. MAI Capital Management offers substantial resources to RIA firms considering an acquisition.  Some advisors choose to join a larger firm, such as MAI, when they realize that they have become spread too thin with more clients than they can serve well.
