Hamilton Reiner, Portfolio Manager, Head of U.S. Equity Derivatives, J.P. Morgan Asset Management met with Julie Cooling, Founder & CEO, RIA Channel to discuss the firm’s hedged equity fund.
J.P. Morgan’s Hedged Equity Fund (JHQAX) isn’t about leverage or market timing, explains Reiner. Instead, the strategy seeks to protect capital no matter the state of the market. The fund is designed to offer investors exposure to U.S. equities, but with about half the volatility of the S&P 500. Hedged on a quarterly basis, the portfolio can be a great alternative to traditional 60/40 balanced funds, suggests Reiner.
