Jeff Gitterman is a widely recognized leader in the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and sustainable investing field, and the creator of SMART (Sustainability Metrics Applied to Risk Tolerance)® Investing Solutions, a suite of global climate-aware allocation strategies available to individual investors, small institutions, and financial advisory firms.

Jeff has over 30 years of experience as a financial advisor, with a primary focus on high net worth individuals and higher education professionals. Gitterman Wealth Management, LLC specializes in working with individual investors as well as college and university professionals via the New Jersey Alternate Benefit Program (ABP) and the Public Employee Retirement System (PERS).

Jeff began realigning Gitterman Wealth Management towards ESG and sustainable investing in 2015, after launching the firm’s SMART Investing Solutions. In 2020, the firm expanded to provide thought leadership and practice management offerings to the financial advisory and institutional markets through Gitterman Asset Management.

Brent NewcombBrent Newcomb President Ecofin

Brent is the President of Ecofin, a leading sustainable investment firm with a mission to deliver strong risk-adjusted returns and create a healthier planet and society. He joined the firm in 2014 and serves as a member of the Executive Committee and liaison to the Ecofin Advisory Board. Prior to Ecofin, Brent spent 10 years at GCM Grosvenor during which he worked in hedge fund portfolio management on behalf of the firm’s global clients. He started his career with ABN-AMRO where he was a credit analyst.

He is a member of investment committees for various Ecofin investment strategies and funds, including the Ecofin Sustainable and Social Impact Term Fund. Brent earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS degree in business administration from the University of Kansas

Brent is a passionate speaker and presenter on numerous topics related to sustainability. He’s also an amateur regenerative farmer as well as a board member and mental health advocate. Brent is married with two children.

Michel Sznajer, CFA®Michel Sznajer, CFA® Portfolio Manager and Managing Director Ecofin

Mr. Sznajer joined the firm in 2016 and serves as a portfolio manager focused on sustainable products. Before joining the firm, he was a partner and portfolio manager at Silvaris Capital Management. Previously, Mr. Sznajer was employed at Wellington Management Co. as an industrial/infrastructure analyst and portfolio manager. Prior to that, he worked at Goldman Sachs and Indosuez W.I. CARR, covering the telecommunication sectors in Asia. Mr. Sznajer started his career as a management consultant at Bain & Company, covering technology, media and telecommunication, and financial sectors in Asia and Europe. He earned a MSc in business and engineering from Brussels University and is a CFA® charterholder.

Max Slee*Max Slee Portfolio Manager Ecofin

Mr. Max Slee joined the firm in 2010. He serves as a portfolio manager on listed equity strategies, both long only and long/short. Before joining the firm, Mr. Slee was a member of the clean energy team of the Clinton Foundation where he was involved in setting up and developing carbon capture & storage (CCS) projects around the world. Previously he was an investment banker at Lazard in London where he was a specialist in the energy sector, working on mergers and acquisitions. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University.
