HPS Launches Private Credit BDC: HLEND

Mike Patterson, Head of HPS Direct Lending & CEO of HLEND discusses the firm’s differentiated approach to private credit.

HPS Investment Partners, well-known in the institutional world, is a global investment manager specializing in a wide-range of credit solutions. With $24B in public credit and $56B in private credit under management globally, HPS brings scale, access and a deep bench of industry experience to the table.

Earlier this year, the firm launched its inaugural non-traded BDC, HLEND. Focused on delivering current income and attractive risk-adjusted returns, “HLEND provides all of the attributes that institutional investors have expected out of a private credit strategy and deliver that in a product that works for retail investors,” says Patterson. HLEND offers investors targeted monthly distributions, targeted quarterly liquidity, simplified tax reporting, and tax efficiency. HPS’ size and scales allows the firm to cast a wider net, conduct rigorous due diligence and ultimately participate in deals with upper middle market leaders with long operating histories in defensive industries.
