Summary:

The importance of environmental, social and governance considerations is growing rapidly on a global scale. Participants in Citi’s 2020 Industry Evolution survey interviews focused extensively on ESG and how the COVID-19 Crisis is forcing an acceleration of the trends driving the industry to an important inflection point around ESG investing. The nature of the COVID-19 Crisis and the impact on asset values of a systemic risk event originating outside the financial industry are seen as driving a shift in asset owners’ demands, and a corresponding re-design of how ESG funds are delivered. Citi is committed to sustainability efforts and understands the emergence of this sector will re-shape investment management. Citi has created their own index focused on this new form of investing and designed to meet ESG ideologies. Led by Jayme Colosimo, Markets and Securities Services Head of ESG for North America at Citi, and Meredith Chiampa, Director, Multi-Asset Group Structurer, attendees will have an exclusive view at the survey’s findings and Citi’s new index.
