Exponential ETFs’ CEO On The Evolving World Of Active Management

Phil Bak, CEO, Exponential ETFs met with Julie Cooling, Founder & CEO, RIA Channel to discuss his line up of ETFs, and the evolving world of active management. Based in Michigan, Exponential ETFs aims to provide advisors with systematic rules-based solutions that have the ability to replace traditional active strategies. ETFs like ASCI and RVRS seek the middle ground between active mutual funds and “vanilla cap-weighted index funds,” says Bak. The American Customer Satisfaction ETF (ACSI), quantifies customer satisfaction and tracks things like pricing power and the confidence level of recurring revenue. Bak explains that typically the stock price or a company’s overall financials lag 3-11 months behind an identified change in customer satisfaction.  While on the other hand, RVRS tilts the S&P 500 toward the reciprocal of the market cap.
