Envestnet’s Ryan Bamert On Leveraging AI To Enhance Platform Reporting Capabilities And User Experience

Ryan Bamert, Principal Director of Product Management at Envestnet, joined Julie Cooling, Founder and CEO of RIA Channel, at Envestnet Elevate 2026 to discuss how the firm is enhancing the advisor experience through new reporting and trading capabilities powered by AI.

After evaluating client feedback and needs across the organization, Bamert highlights that Envestnet identified reporting as a key area for improvement. In response, the firm is developing a personalized and enhanced reporting experience known as Report Studio. This solution is designed to eliminate previously siloed data, creating a more interactive, customizable reporting process. Platform users will be able to select the data, tables, and charts they would like to include in reports while also combining holdings and performance data in a single view, something that was previously not possible. Bamert notes that the reporting platform is expected to be fully available in a future release.

AI is also playing a central role in the development of Report Studio. Bamert explains that Envestnet is embedding AI throughout its ecosystem, including within the reporting platform. Rather than navigating configuration panels, advisors will be able to interact with a chat-based interface that guides them through the reporting process. The AI can help generate client-ready meeting reports and briefs, explain account activity, and suggest next steps.

Trading is another area where Envestnet has focused its innovation efforts. According to Bamert, 65% of trades processed through the Envestnet platform are related to cash management. Advisors often must rely on manual workarounds to balance sweep cash and money markets. To address this challenge, Envestnet recently launched Security Reserves, a tool that allows users to establish cash reserves while designating securities, money market positions, or security reserves. Bamert highlights that the solution helps advisors achieve more precise portfolio cash balances with greater efficiency.

Bamert emphasizes that Envestnet strives to keep clients’ needs at the core of its business strategy while ensuring the firm stays ahead of market trends. By developing high-quality technology in-house, including AI-powered solutions, while simultaneously integrating with strategic third-party providers, he notes that the firm is reducing the cognitive load of its clients.
