Pete Thatch, Head of Strategic Relationship Group for Capital Group, joined Julie Cooling, Founder and CEO of RIA Channel, to discuss how Capital Group helps advisors in meeting their goals.
Capital Group is America’s largest active management firm. The scale of the firm is a competitive advantage, which allows it to invest resources to work with financial advisors. Capital Group offers advisors free quarterly portfolio reviews and advice on portfolio construction. After launching active ETFs three years ago, the firm has quickly grown that business line to $53 billion in assets.
The business is evolving, with greater wealth advised by RIAs and independent advisors. Capital Group is evolving along with the industry, with a dedicated group to service advisors that offers a portfolio construction service. The firm also offers separately managed accounts (SMAs), active ETFs, and model portfolios.
RIAs have been leading many changes in the market. Capital Group has an RIA board to follow the evolution of the industry. Thatch notes that Capital Group has always had a collaborative culture and has gotten closer to the market over the last ten years. Capital Group listens closely to its clients, as the firm wants to be the partner of choice. The firm seeks to assist advisors in marketing, scaling, and building their businesses.
