Rob is the Head of Advisor Education for Nuveen and is responsible for the development and delivery of practice management, wealth management, and market insight programs that help Financial Advisors grow their business. Rob has been in the financial services industry since 1990 and has expertise in all aspects of financial planning, advisor practice management, and investor education. Prior to joining Nuveen, he was the head of Advisor and Client Education for BlackRock for 11 years. In addition to creating and delivering educational presentations for audiences of all sizes, Rob has been featured in the media for his perspectives on financial planning and Social Security. He has appeared on CNBC, Fox Business, Bloomberg, and Advisor TV. Additionally, he has been quoted in a variety of national publications, including the Wall Street Journal and USA Today. Rob spent 17 years at Merrill Lynch. His experience included managing the Individual Retirement Account platform, creating innovative, industry-changing investment advice and web-based initiatives to assist plan participants, and developing a comprehensive suite of financial planning tools. Rob graduated magna cum laude from the University of Colorado.

Karen Lutomski, CIMA Karen Lutomski, CIMA Western Region Manager, U.S. Wealth Advisory Services Nuveen

As Western Region Manager at Nuveen, Karen is responsible for leading a team of advisor consultants across all channels to strengthen relationships with financial professionals with a focus on building sustainable organic growth. She champions strategic initiatives providing a resource for learning and development within the organization to her team. Her responsibilities include delivering value added presentations to our partner firms and representing Nuveen at various industry conferences. She also communicates with regional leadership of our partner firms. Prior to this role, Karen was responsible for marketing and consulting thefirm’s investment solutions to private wealth advisors, portfolio managers and their clients, including institutional investors, ultra-high net worth individuals and family offices. Before joining the firm in 2011, Karen was as a director for Lazard Asset Management. Prior to Lazard, she was in client service at Jurika & Voyles Investment Management. Karen has been honored by several national fullservices firms for her contributions in consultant education, marketing and training. She entered the investment industry in 1991. Karen graduated with a B.A. in Economics from the University of New Hampshire. She is a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute and holds the CIMA designation. She was a member of the Specialty Conference Committee at the Institute. Karen is the co-chair of the Nuveen ERG LEAD Annual Conference Committee and was co-chair of Money Management Institute, MMI, Women in Distribution Conference.
