Erkko Etula, CEO and CIO of Brooklyn Investment Group, joined Julie Cooling, Founder and CEO of RIA Channel, to discuss how the platform’s tax-advantaged long-short strategies and whole-portfolio solution are driving advisor demand.
Following Nuveen’s acquisition of Brooklyn Investment Group, Etula explains that the firm has experienced rapid growth, with assets increasing by approximately $500 million to $1 billion per month. He attributes this demand to the firm’s tax-advantaged long-short strategies and whole-portfolio solution, which integrates equities, fixed income, ETFs, and mutual funds into a single personalized account while allowing advisors to layer long-short strategies on top.
Etula notes that Brooklyn’s cloud-based, AI-powered technology enables daily tax management, risk monitoring, and portfolio personalization, helping advisors automate rebalancing and deliver more seamless, holistic portfolio management. He adds that the platform is fully white-labeled, allowing advisory firms to incorporate their own investment intellectual property into the platform.
Looking ahead, Etula says the firm continues to expand its alternative investment offerings, with the goal of providing advisors with a comprehensive portfolio solution.
