Speakers:

Richard is the lead portfolio manager and an executive officer for the Nuveen Global Cities REIT. He oversees strategic allocation and the North American portions of the portfolio.

Prior to his current position, Richard held numerous roles on the transactions and portfolio management teams. He served on the United States regional team for Nuveen Real Estate, structuring and managing equity and debt components of commercial real estate. He also led investment activity including acquisitions, asset management, and dispositions. In 2012, he opened the Nuveen Real Estate’s San Francisco office and built out the Northwest transaction team. Before joining the firm in 2007, he worked for RER Financial Group and specialized in CMBS due diligence assignments, acquisitions, and debt restructurings. He entered the real estate industry in 1999.

Richard graduated with a B.S. in Economics from Mary Washington College and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He holds the CFA designation and is a member of the Urban Land Institute and Commercial Real Estate Development Association.

Donald is the Global Head of Research at Nuveen Real Estate. Using a mix of nontraditional and traditional data sources and the expertise of the professionals within the organization, Donald strives to uncover insights that help shape market-beating property portfolios.

Prior to joining Nuveen Real Estate in 2021, Donald led abrdn’s (formerly Aberdeen Standard Investments) Real Estate Multi-Manager program in the Americas. His role involved sourcing, underwriting, and investing in commingled private equity real estate funds, clubs deals, co- investments, and joint ventures on behalf of abrdn’s fund-of-fund products and separately managed accounts. Prior to his role in investments, Donald was abrdn’s Head of Americas Real Estate Investment Research. Donald began his career in real estate research and strategy at CoStar Advisory Services, where he ascended to Managing Consultant, Senior Real Estate Economist. As a consultant, Donald would harness CoStar’s big-data capabilities to uncover winning strategies, identify undervalued submarkets and subsectors, optimize portfolios, and advise on individual transactions.

Donald graduated with a B.S. from Penn State University’s Schreyer Honors College and an M.B.A. from the Boston College Carroll Graduate School of Management. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute Research Forum and serves on Nuveen Real Estate’s Americas Investment Committee.

James is the Global Co-Head of Housing for Nuveen Real Estate. He is responsible for leading a dedicated team of housing sector-specialist transaction, asset management and portfolio management professionals in managing and growing the company’s housing equity portfolio, which currently totals over $13 billion and 167 properties across a range of funds and accounts on behalf of various clients. He is a member of the Global Executive Leadership Team and Americas Investment Committee.

Prior to his current role, James was Head of Housing, Americas and head of the CASA Funds, and previously was head of North America Property for Henderson Global Investors, where he worked for 21 years before leading the business’ transition to Nuveen Real Estate. He entered the industry in 1984.

James graduated with a B.S. in Management from Central Connecticut State University. He holds the Institute of Real Estate Management’s CPM designation and is a two-time past president of the Connecticut Chapter. He also holds the CCIM designation from the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute and is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC). James also holds the FINRA Series 7 registration.

As Head of Global Real Estate for Nuveen, and a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Chris is responsible for all real estate investment operations. Since 1999, his experience has focused on real estate acquisition, management and finance. He chairs the firm’s Global Executive Leadership Team, which oversees global strategic initiatives.

Prior to his current role, Chris served as the portfolio manager for the real property and commercial mortgage allocation of TIAA’s General Account and previously served as lead portfolio manager for TIAA’s direct real estate strategies. Prior to that, he was a director of real estate acquisition for the Western region of the U.S. and also worked in the mortgage division. He joined TIAA in 2001 having previously worked at Codina Development Corporation and The Related Group of Florida.

Chris graduated with a B.S. in Business from the University of Maryland and an M.B.A. from the University of Florida.
