Robert joined MacKay Shields in July 2009 when the firm acquired the assets of Mariner Municipal Managers LLC. He was the President and co-founder of Mariner Municipal Managers from 2007 to 2009. He has been a municipal portfolio manager since 1992, with a broad range of trading and portfolio management experience in the municipal markets. Robert was a Managing Director and Co-Head of BlackRock’s Municipal Portfolio Management Group (from 2006 to 2007). Prior to BlackRock’s merger with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, he served as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Managing Director of the Municipal Products Group. He was employed by Merrill Lynch from 1993 to 2006. Robert is a member of the firm’s Senior Leadership Team. He earned his Master’s degree at Rutgers University Business School and an undergraduate degree at the University of Connecticut. He is a CFA Charterholder. |

Chris joined MacKay Municipal Managers in May 2011 and leads the MacKay Municipal Managers’ national account relationships while also serving as a Senior Client Portfolio Manager. Prior to joining, Chris was Senior Director with TIAA-CREF Asset Management focusing on business development and sales of investment products through institutions within the academic, medical, and research community. From 1991 through 2006, Chris worked with Merrill Lynch, most recently as Director and Head of National Accounts within the asset management division, overseeing relationship management and building new lines of distribution through the broker-dealer community. Chris has a BA from Rutgers University, is a Certified Investment Management Analyst and member of The Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA). |

Poul joined New York Life Investments in 2011 to focus on global macroeconomic trends and investment strategy for SAAS a Multi Asset Allocation group. A mathematical economist by training, he has special expertise in asset allocation. Prior to joining New York Life Investments, he worked as senior investment strategist for Danske Bank (the largest bank in Denmark and a leading player in Scandinavia), where he advised major pension funds on asset allocation. Prior to that, his background includes roles as macroeconomic researcher for a broker-dealer and global macro strategist for an asset management company. Poul holds a Master’s degree in economics from Aarhus University (in Denmark). In addition, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is also certified in quantitative finance (the CQF designation). |

Robert Serenbetz is the Portfolio Strategist for Strategic Asset Allocation and Solutions Group (SAS). He contributes to investment thought leadership and communication efforts across New York Life Investment Management. He is responsible for investment strategy, portfolio construction, and capital markets research. Prior to joining New York Life, Robert served at Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC (“CSSU”) where he worked for the CIO Americas team in the Private Bank. Robert received a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where he was also inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon (Economic Honors Society). |
