Michael Hunstad is the chief investment officer for global equities at Northern Trust Asset Management. He serves on the asset management executive group, and leads all equity portfolio management and research for quantitative, index and tax-advantaged strategies.
Previously, Michael was director of quantitative research where he was responsible for leading Northern Trust Asset Management’s factor-based research and product development programs.
Prior to joining Northern Trust, he was head of research at Breakwater Capital, an algorithmic trading firm and hedge fund. Previously, he was head of quantitative asset allocation at Allstate Investments, LLC and a quantitative analyst with a long-short equity hedge fund. He also served as an adjunct professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Michael holds a Ph.D. in mathematics, an MBA in finance, an M.A. in econometrics and a bachelor’s degree in economics. He has published more than 80 articles and papers in professional and academic journals including Pensions & Investments, European Pensions, the Journal of Index Investing, the Alternative Investment Analyst Review, the Journal of Financial and Strategic Decisions and the Journal of Corporate Treasury Management. Michael has also spoken at more than 200 conferences across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australia/New Zealand. |

Jordan Dekhayser, CFA

Jordan Dekhayser is the Head of the Equity Client Portfolio Management at Northern Trust Asset Management where he oversees a cross-asset class team that represents and advocates NTAM’s investment platform to clients and internal partners. Jordan specializes in Quantitative and Index Equities where he focuses on developing and delivering factor-based and index investment insights and solutions for institutional and retail clients around the globe. He has extensive experience conducting factor-based research including integration of ESG factors into equity portfolios and has written several papers on related topics. Prior to this role, Jordan was a Senior Portfolio Manager and Lead Equity ETF Portfolio Manager where he led a team of portfolio managers responsible for a variety of index-based and quantitative strategies. Before joining Northern Trust in 2008, Jordan worked for Deutsche Bank as a sales-trader for the Global Equity Program Trading team where he covered US institutional clients trading global equities. Jordan has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Rutgers University where he graduated in 2003 with Highest Honors. He is a CFA Charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago. |

Nicholas Dymond, CFA

Nicholas is the Head of International Index Equity Portfolio Management, EMEA at Northern Trust and is responsible for index equity portfolio management in EMEA. He is part of the Executive Management Team and a voting member across a number of committees, including the EMEA Business Risk Committee and Commissions and Trading Committee. Nicholas joined Northern Trust in 2006 as a Portfolio Manager responsible for the management of a variety of index equity portfolios for large institutional clients, sub-advisory clients, and index funds, as well as joint responsibility for the management of several global enhanced equity mandates. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Nicholas was at State Street Global Advisors, initially in the operations department focusing on Risk Control and Transitions. He joined their global structured products group in 2002 where he was primarily responsible for the management of index equity portfolios and asset allocation across their pooled funds range. Nicholas also earned a MEng in civil engineering with Architecture from the University of Leeds. Nicholas is a CFA charterholder. Member of the CFA Institute. |
