DWS’ Wilson Defines Real Assets


Andy Wilson, Client Portfolio Manager, Liquid Real Assets, DWS met with Julie Cooling, Founder & CEO, RIA Channel to discuss the firm’s real assets strategy. DWS defines real assets as hard assets, such as infrastructure, real estate and commodities. “These are the backbone of any global economy,” says Wilson. The firm identifies unique characteristics and performance at the sector level and tracks how they respond to changes like growth and inflation. In terms of allocation to a client portfolio, Wilson suggests that real assets typically perform well in a late cycle environment but can also be used as a long-term diversification tool.
