John Frank, QQQ Strategist, Invesco met with Julie Cooling, Founder & CEO, RIA Channel to discuss QQQ’s 20th anniversary and what’s trending around growth investing in 2019.
Despite the market correction late last year, 2019 has gotten off to strong start for QQQ, and equity markets overall. While growth investing has performed well for nearly a decade, Frank says the big questions now are, “What’s driving the portfolio this year?” and “Will growth investing continue to beat expectations?”
In the past, large cap names like Google and Apple have dominated, but today small cap names appear to be the biggest growth drivers. Other shifts include QQQ’s emphasis on innovation across all sectors, rather than just traditional technology.
