Brock Campbell, Global Head of Research and Senior Portfolio Manager for BNY, joined Zoe Hunt, Host of RIA Channel, at BNY INSITE 2026 to discuss why the AI buildout and senior housing are driving opportunities across infrastructure investing.
As the AI buildout accelerates, Campbell points to growing opportunities across the infrastructure ecosystem that can provide investors with potential diversification, downside protection, inflation protection, income generation, and consistent cash flows.
Since AI requires significant electricity, Campbell expects companies capable of meeting the demand for power generation, transmission, water, and natural gas to be in high demand. From 2027 to 2032, he anticipates a substantial increase in natural gas-fired generation, followed by a resurgence in nuclear power, including large-scale and small modular reactors. He also highlights next-generation energy technologies such as enhanced geothermal and battery storage.
Beyond AI, Campbell highlights senior housing as another infrastructure theme. As Boomers age, he expects demand for senior housing and skilled nursing facilities to outpace supply, creating additional opportunities across the infrastructure asset class.
