Kipp Cormier, Head of Advisor Sales for Envestnet, joined Zoe Hunt, Host of RIA Channel, at Envestnet Elevate 2026 to discuss how advisors can unlock growth by optimizing their core business.
Cormier notes that many advisors focus on acquiring the next big client, while overlooking opportunities within legacy business lines that sit outside their core practice. He highlights that integrating those opportunities into a firm’s core business and expanding relationships with existing clients is often more efficient and cost-effective than onboarding new clients.
While Envestnet provides the infrastructure as an Adaptive WealthTech platform, Cormier emphasizes that the firm also serves as a strategic consulting partner. He encourages advisors to leverage Envestnet’s resources to evaluate legacy business lines, reframe their value proposition, and identify opportunities to deepen relationships with existing clients.
As innovation accelerates within wealth management, Cormier also highlights the benefits of unified managed accounts (UMAs). Rather than reducing advisor control, he explains that UMAs can automate operationally intensive tasks, including trading, tax optimization, and portfolio personalization, allowing advisors to spend more time engaging with clients.
