Brian Resnick, Senior Investment Strategist for AllianceBernstein, joined Zoe Hunt, Host of RIA Channel, to discuss opportunities in private credit, including asset-based finance and the role of semi-liquid vehicles.
AllianceBernstein is a leading global investment management firm specializing in diversified investment solutions for institutional, individual, and private wealth clients across major world markets. Resnick works closely with the firm’s private credit investment professionals, translating investment and asset allocation insights into practical advice for advisors.
Resnick points to asset-based finance as a key area of opportunity within private credit. He explains that the market remains relatively new and less competitive, creating opportunities to invest in contractual cash flows supported by hard assets.
Regarding semi-liquid vehicles, Resnick finds that they can provide a broader range of individual investors with access to institutional-style investments that were previously inaccessible. While he acknowledges that the associated illiquidity may not suit every investor, he notes that investors seeking an illiquidity premium and potential alpha opportunities must be willing to sacrifice some liquidity. He emphasizes the importance of investor education and ensuring investments align with comfort levels in the private credit space.
Looking ahead, Resnick says AllianceBernstein plans to continue expanding its private credit capabilities across asset-based finance, direct lending, and other areas of the market.
