Wedbush’s Cullen Rogers On the ReturnOnLeadership® U.S. Large-Cap ETF (EXEQ)

Cullen Rogers, Chief Investment Officer of Wedbush Fund Advisers, and Janeen Gelbart, CEO and Co-Founder of Indiggo, joined Keith Black, Managing Director of RIA Channel, to discuss how the Wedbush ReturnOnLeadership® U.S. Large-Cap ETF (EXEQ) takes a differentiated approach to investing.

Rogers notes that traditional factor strategies tend to focus on financial outcomes such as valuation, profitability, and balance sheet strength. While these metrics are important, he explains that they do not offer the same depth as a leadership analysis. However, leadership has historically been difficult to measure objectively. To address this gap, Rogers points to EXEQ as a solution.

EXEQ uses an AI-driven, rules-based process to objectively evaluate companies across strategy definition, corporate execution, leadership alignment, and consistency of follow-through. Gelbart explains that the first-of-its-kind ReturnOnLeadership® framework ingests large volumes of publicly available information to identify measurable signals and translate them into a leadership score. She adds that these are dynamic measurements, meaning rankings are constantly updated as new information becomes available.

For investors navigating today’s uncertain market, Rogers highlights the critical role of leadership as a key differentiator for investors. He explains that companies that are aligned internally, have a clear direction, and demonstrate disciplined-decision making tend to perform better. As a result, EXEQ’s leadership metrics offer investors an approach that can not only sit alongside core exposures but may also shift core exposure to potentially outperform in both bull and bear markets.
