Mark Thomas, Executive Vice President of PIMCO, and Stephen Hagan, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of iH2 Advisors & Company, joined Julie Cooling, Founder and CEO of RIA Channel, to discuss the rising demand for fixed income and the role of the iTAMPTM platform.
With approximately $2.26 trillion in assets under management, PIMCO is one of the leading global fixed income asset managers on iH2 Advisors’ iTAMP Platform. Designed specifically for international advisors, the iTAMP Platform allows access to a full suite of strategies through a managed account structure, which provides customizable portfolios with transparency into underlying holdings. Hagan notes that clients enjoy the ability to see and track what’s happening in their portfolios on a daily basis.
Thomas finds that for some PIMCO clients, having an offshore separately managed account is a key access point to the firm’s diverse strategies and products. He adds that partnering with Hagan’s team is the beneficial approach to achieving this.
As yields remain high, Thomas notes an increasing demand for fixed income as an attractive alternative to cash. He also finds that as rates decline, investors are moving toward longer-duration assets. Hagan echoes this trend, adding that he is seeing a significant interest in fixed income due to the interest rate environment.
Looking ahead, Thomas emphasizes that, given current market uncertainty, PIMCO is focused on taking a top-down view while increasing underlying credit analysis. The goal is to structure diversified portfolios that are well positioned to navigate potential volatility in the market.
