Mark Hackett is the Chief Market Strategist at Nationwide. Mark spearheads Nationwide’s capital markets analysis initiative, aimed at educating financial advisors and their clients on financial markets and their implications for investors. In this role, he collaborates closely with internal teams on thought leadership, asset allocation and manager selection, providing essential macroeconomic and asset class insights. Mark’s insights have been featured in numerous media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, CNBC, Reuters, MarketWatch, AP, and others. He also leads Nationwide’s public relations efforts on market-related topics. He also contributes weekly market commentary to the Nationwide Advisor Advocate Blog.

Mark brings nearly three decades of experience in the asset management industry, including serving as a portfolio manager for Nuveen, where he managed growth equity portfolios. He began his investment career at the Vanguard Group as a research associate in the fixed income group.

Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from the University of Richmond Robbins School of Business. Further underscoring his commitment to financial literacy, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Market Technician, and holds a Series 7 license. Mark also serves on the board of the local Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Brad Beman, CPA, CFA® Brad Beman, CPA, CFA® Head of Fixed Income Nationwide

Brad Beman is the Investment Leader of the Fixed Income Asset Management team for Nationwide. In this role, Brad provides leadership and oversight of all public and private credit, municipal, government, and structured product teams.

Brad joined Nationwide in February 2021 to lead the Public Credit team. He has extensive investment industry experience, particularly in fixed income, as well as risk management. He worked at AEGON for nearly 30 years in various roles of increasing responsibility, including Director of High Yield, Director of Public Fixed Income, and Director of Credit Research. His career at AEGON culminated in a role as Global Chief Investment Officer, where he led a 100+ person organization that managed $250 billion in assets covering public and private fixed income asset classes, alternatives and derivatives globally. He also served on AEGON’s Global Asset Management Board and helped the organization establish global standards and strategies. After AEGON, he co-founded and led a fixed income asset class team as CIO for Tortoise Credit Strategies in Los Angeles, CA, which manages more than $3 billion in assets.

Brad earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and his MBA from the University of Iowa. He holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations.

Jeffrey Galloway, CFA® Jeffrey Galloway, CFA® SVP and Portfolio Manager of NWXHX Pioneer Investments

Jeff Galloway is a Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Senior Credit Analyst at Pioneer Investments, which was formerly known as Amundi US, and was acquired by Victory Capital in 2025. Jeff is a Portfolio Manager for Multi-Asset Credit strategies that invest in a broad spectrum of domestic and global credit related sectors with a focus on corporate credit (Investment Grade, High Yield and Leveraged Loans) and securitized credit. As a senior member of Pioneer Investment’s Corporate Credit Research team, Jeff focuses primarily on telecom issuers across investment grade, high yield and leveraged loans. Jeff is a leader of Pioneer Investment’s internal distressed credit team, which is responsible for analysis of stressed and distressed credits.

Prior to joining Pioneer Investments, Jeff held roles of increasing responsibility in credit research at two leading global banks as well as at a multi-strategy hedge fund.

He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.B.A. from the University of Iowa Henry B. Tippie College of Business, where he graduated with distinction and honors and was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies. He earned his CFA® designation in 2003.
