Now On Demand

Expectations for Federal Reserve rate cuts have not been the primary driver of the recent bond market rally. The rally was driven more by market forces, a trend that is likely to continue in 2024. And with a potential for more stable longer-term Treasury rates and price-to-earnings multiples in 2024, Fed rate cuts may not help stocks. Stocks still have the potential for another decent year, but this time it will likely need to come from the strength of their earnings. For equity investors, a focus on quality might therefore be prudent.
