Spenser Lerner is the head of the Multi Asset Solutions Team at Harbor Capital Advisors, Inc. Prior to joining Harbor, Spenser led a Multi Asset Quantitative Research Team in JPMorgan’s managed solutions group. Prior to that role, Spenser led fundamental sector coverage in JPMorgan Asset Management for real estate and energy sectors contributing to both fundamental and research-based strategies that included long only, long/short, market neutral and options overlaid for U.S. equities. In addition to fundamental equity research, Spenser was responsible for portfolio management, portfolio construction and quantitative investment strategy. Spenser received a B.S. in Business Administration from Monmouth University and is a CFA® charterholder.
Jake SchurmeierPortfolio Manager, Multi-Asset Solutions TeamHarbor Capital Advisors, Inc.
Starting at Harbor in 2021, Jake Schurmeier is a portfolio manager within the Multi-Asset Solutions Team.
Prior to joining Harbor, Jake spent 6 years with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. While at the Fed, Jake was the head of Treasury Market analysis within the Bank’s Markets Group. He was responsible for 10 analysts and associates tasked with analyzing market expectations for Fed policy, the effect of Fed market operations, and the outlook for growth and inflation. Previously, he was the lead associate responsible for implementing over $1 trillion in Treasury Market purchases in response to COVID-19. Jake also spent a year on secondment at the U.S. Department of the Treasury within the Office of Debt Management where he was a part of the team responsible for all marketable Treasury debt.
Jake received a master’s degree in international affairs from the University of California, San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy. Jake has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Joe DuffyDirector, Investment SpecialistHarbor Capital Advisors, Inc.
Joe Duffy is an investment specialist at Harbor Capital Advisors, Inc. He is part of the Investment Specialist Team that provides insights on financial markets and serves as a product specialist for Harbor’s investment strategies. Prior to joining Harbor, Joe was a managing director at Asset Preservation Advisors where he was responsible for communicating the firm’s products and perspectives to clients and prospective clients. Previously, he held various roles within BNY Mellon’s Asset Management division including director, senior investment strategist at Mellon and senior product specialist at The Boston Company. Joe received a BA in Finance from Bryant University and an MBA from Bentley University.
