Anders Persson, CFA Anders Persson, CFA Chief Investment Officer, Head of Global Fixed Income Nuveen

Anders is the fixed income chief investment officer and a member of the Nuveen Senior Leadership Team. He oversees all public and private global fixed income activities, including portfolio management, research, trading and investment risk management activities. Anders is also member of the Global Investment Committee and chairs the Global Fixed Income Investment Council.

Prior to his current role, he was head of global fixed income portfolio management and head of research. Before joining the firm, he was a founding member of the team that established Société Générale’s European high yield effort in London, and later worked to establish the high-yield research effort within Schroders Investment Management. He has also worked as a sell-side high-yield research analyst at Wells Fargo (formerly First Union).

Anders graduated with a B.S. from Lander College and an M.B.A. from Winthrop University. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the North Carolina Society of Security Analysts. Anders serves on the Board of the North Carolina Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Daniel J. Close, CFA Daniel J. Close, CFA Head of Municipals Nuveen

Dan leads the municipal fixed income strategic direction and investment perspectives for Nuveen. Dan serves as lead portfolio manager for high yield municipal strategies, along with tax-exempt and taxable municipal strategies that include customized institutional portfolios, open-end funds and closed-end funds. Prior to his current role, in 2010, Dan helped establish and expand the platform as Head of Taxable Municipals, and he has deep experience serving clients worldwide.

Dan helps set direction for custom fixed income solutions and asset allocation across multi-sector portfolios. As a leading expert on taxable municipals, Dan serves as trusted voice on the complexities of the taxable municipal market. After joining Nuveen in 2000, Dan was a municipal fixed income research analyst covering the corporate-backed, energy, transportation and utility sectors. Dan began working in the investment industry in 1998 as an analyst at Bank of America Securities.

Dan graduated with a B.S. in Business from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and an M.B.A. from the J. L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.

Michael Meehan, CFA Michael Meehan, CFA Managing Director, Portfolio Strategist Nuveen

Mike has over a decade of experience building multi-asset portfolios across public and private markets. As a senior member of Nuveen’s Portfolio Strategy and Solutions team, he develops and delivers custom analytics, thought leadership and portfolio construction views to investment advisors and their clients.

Prior to joining Nuveen, Mike was a Portfolio Strategist at BlackRock serving family offices and RIA’s. Also at BlackRock, Mike developed allocation tools and frameworks for clients, especially relating to alternatives. Previously, he was a member of the investment strategy team at Hirtle, Callaghan, & Co – a large OCIO – and was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study economics at the German Institute for Economic Research.

Mike graduated with a B.S. from Fairfield University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of CFA Societies of New York and Philadelphia.
