Shaheen Iqubal joined Calamos in 2017 and has 23 years of investment industry experience. Shaheen is responsible for oversight of our quantitative investment and risk management teams and has ETF portfolio management responsibilities. Prior to joining the firm, Shaheen was executive director and senior quantitative analyst in the applied research group at UBS Asset Management. During his tenure at UBS, Shaheen also managed emerging markets systematic fund. Earlier in his career at UBS, he held the role of senior applications developer in the investment IT group. Shaheen earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, with concentrations in Analytical Finance and Economics. He received a B.S. with concentrations in Mathematics and Chemistry from Ranchi University and an honors diploma in Software from the National Institute of Information Technology, India. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Chicago, and the Chicago Quantitative Alliance (CQA). | ||

As a Co-Chief Investment Officer, Matt Freund is responsible for oversight of investment team resources, investment processes, performance and risk. As Head of Fixed Income Strategies, he manages investment team members and has portfolio management responsibilities. He is also a member of the Calamos Investment Committee, which is charged with providing a top-down framework, maintaining oversight of risk and performance metrics, and evaluating investment process. Matt joined Calamos in 2016 and has over 30 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Calamos, he was Chief Investment Officer of USAA Investments, leading the teams responsible for the portfolio management of USAA’s mutual funds and affiliated portfolios, including P&C and life insurance products, and overseeing more than $140 billion in assets. During this time, he also served as lead portfolio manager for several highly regarded fixed income mutual funds. Earlier in his career, Matt served as a senior investment analyst for MetLife in the Capital Markets Group. He received a B.A. in Accounting from Franklin & Marshall College and an M.B.A. from Indiana University. |
