Should Investors Worry About China?

Rich Morgan from RIA Channel, interviews Andy Rothman, Investment Strategist from Matthews Asia. Morgan and Rothman discuss macro themes going on in China. Matthews Asia is the largest Asia-only investor in the U.S. with about $26 billion dollars under management and roughly 30% invested in China. When discussing the recent fundamental changes in China’s economy, Rothman explains the nature of the Chinese economy has altered dramatically and he foresees this to be the third consecutive year that services and consumption are larger than the manufacturing and construction industries. Rothman’s recommendation for advisors is to think about active approaches to investing in China, as changes occur swiftly, and opportunities to include or exclude equities should not wait on index reconstitution.
