Central bank activity, outside of the US, will continue to be a major factor in international markets, says Kleintop pointing to the growing number of central banks starting to slow down, and even reverse course on rate hikes. Looking ahead, Kleintop encourages investors to focus on quality characteristics that tend to work well across countries and sectors. High dividend paying stocks, for example, typically demonstrate a healthy balance sheet and have historically performed well in down markets and in periods of early economic recovery. Kleintop also points to opportunities in the energy sector and potential geopolitical concerns.
