Plan Ahead to Avoid Impact of Market Downturns – VanEck – 10.16.18

Summary:

Now On Demand.

As the nearly decade-long equity bull market marches on, many investors remain focused on upside capture. Preparation for an eventual market downturn may be getting overlooked, despite the fact that the U.S. equity market has historically spent a majority of the time declining or in recovery. Meeting client expectations to achieve both of these objectives can be difficult, especially in times like these, marked by conflicting opinions, growing uncertainty, and complex market data.

To address these challenges, Ned Davis Research (NDR) and VanEck developed a highly disciplined, tactical investment strategy that aims to assist clients in building and preserving assets through all market environments. With flexibility to allocate across asset classes and raise significant cash to limit drawdowns during extreme market events, the strategy also eliminates the emotional and behavioral errors that tend to emerge during periods of stress, often negatively impacting performance.

Join VanEck and Alejandra Grindal, Senior International Economist, Ned Davis Research, as they discuss:

  • Overview of current market conditions using NDR indicators and metrics
  • Transforming market data into an objective, tactical core allocation approach
  • How to implement a risk-management approach to avoid the impact of market downturns and volatility
