Our thoughts on 2019: from U.S. Equities to Emerging Markets – BNP Paribas Asset Management – 1.10.19

Summary:

Now On Demand.

Please join us for an outlook discussion on three of our most popular asset classes – Emerging Markets Fixed Income, Global Emerging Markets Equity and U.S. Small Cap Equities.

Our panel of experts will cover global economic themes, as well as our outlook and risk considerations for each asset class. Moderating the call will be our Senior Economist and former N.Y. Fed member, Steve Friedman. Topics to be discussed include:

The U.S. economy:

  • Global growth – how significant a slowdown?
  • Is the Federal Reserve’s tightening cycle over?

Global emerging markets equity:

  • Relative valuations have become increasingly attractive throughout 2018, will they remain that way?
  • Evaluation of macro and geopolitical events.

U.S. small caps:

  • Where are we in the cycle and how does it potentially affect small cap stocks?
  • Valuation – with small cap stocks approaching bear market levels and earnings continuing to grow, are these stocks cheap?

Emerging markets fixed income:

  • Expectations for both local and hard currency over 2019.
  • Performance expectations.
  • Landscape changes including credit deterioration, GCC countries, and China inclusion.
