Tobias M. Levkovich is the Chief U.S. Equity Strategist for Citi Investment Research and is a member of Citi’s Investment Strategy Committee. In this role he is responsible for assessing the direction of the market, setting the firm’s investment sector allocations, and compiling its Recommended List, a list of specific investments that he expects to appreciate in value. Tobias assumed his current role in 2001. He was accorded slots for portfolio strategy repeatedly during the 2002-2014 period. Institutional Investor All-America Research Team (II) poll and, was ranked third team in 2004 and 2007. SmartMoney magazine has also recognized Tobias as one of its “Power 30 Thinkers”, its “Best Market Seer” and its “30 Smartest People in Investing”. Prior to assuming his current role, Tobias spent 13 years analyzing the engineering, construction, and machinery industries and was recognized consistently for his accurate investment recommendations and analysis by Institutional Investor, The Wall Street Journal, and Reuters. Tobias began his career as an assistant vice president in the research department of L.F. Rothschild & Co. He holds a bachelor’s in commerce from Concordia University in Montreal and attended Boston University’s Graduate School of Management.
J.P. Connellan is Co-Head of Americas Private Client Solutions Group. In this role, he leads a sales team providing municipal and taxable xed income, equities and structured product solutions. J.P.’s groups are responsible for distribution of these solutions to all internal Citi platforms, strategic partners, Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) and electronic trading platforms. He is also responsible for retail taxable fixed income trading.
J.P.’s career at Citi has spanned three decades. He started in sales, then moved to regional trading, in which he succeeded over a 10-year span. In 1997, he began managing the Municipal Division’s Northeast sales and marketing effort, and built the proprietary High Net Worth PlatformTM for Citi’s clients.
His responsibilities since then have included representing Capital Markets during the Citi/Morgan Stanley joint venture, as well as building a third- party venture for distribution of Citi’s primary and secondary fixed-income products. J.P. also represents Citi on the Retail Fixed-Income Committee of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).
J.P. has served in the elected position of Councilman, Borough of Sea Girt, New Jersey, on the Financial Board of his Church, St. Mark’s, and as an Advisory Board Member for St. Rose High School in Belmar, New Jersey. He serves on various boards at the Spring Lake Golf Club. He also serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Mobile Trauma Unit of NYC and Villanova School of Nursing. He has also recently been asked to serve on the Board of Trustees for his alma mater, St. Leo’s University in Florida.
