Epoch’s Priest Talks Equity Market Outlook & Shareholder Yield

Bill Priest, Executive Chairman, Co-CIO, and Portfolio Manager, Epoch Investment Partners met with Steve Sciortino, Managing Director and Head of Product Management at New York Life Investments to discuss his long-term outlook on the equities market, the importance of actively identifying resilient companies, and the benefits of accessing income through a shareholder yield approach.

Priest says that investors are likely in for a choppy ride. The global pandemic’s lingering effects on the economy coupled with November’s pending election continues to deliver high levels of uncertainty and market volatility. Priest emphasizes security in a diversified equity income approach. In the long term, Priest predicts that technology and data will continue to be a major disruptor. While technology and data will continue to change the way we live and work, Priest says it will ultimately drive down labor and fixed costs, benefiting dividend pay outs.

Epoch’s Equity Shareholder Yield approach aims to deliver attractive total and risk-adjusted returns and high dividend income through a diversified equities approach. The firm leverages proprietary quantitative research to identify resilient companies with persistent cash flows and sustainable income levels and growth rates.
