EFG’s Klotter On Growth & Value Allocation Considerations

Don Klotter, Managing Director, Head of EFG Asset Management North America, Schafer Cullen Capital Management joined Keith Black, Managing Director, RIA Channel to weigh in on growth versus value allocation considerations and the key benefits of active management. 

“Theres a time for value and a time for growth, but there is a good reason to have exposure to both at all times,” says Klotter on the current growth to value sentiment in the market. Klotter warns against the all or nothing approach, pointing to the important defensive and offensive roles growth and value stocks play in a portfolio. 

Donald Klotter is head of Global Head of Institutional Sales. He has been with EFG since 2016 and served as a Client Portfolio Manager in Asset Management, working alongside the US equity growth investment team. In his new role, he will be responsible for global business development initiatives and will manage the sales teams based in Geneva, Hong Kong, London, Miami, Singapore and Zurich. Donald Klotter has over 25 years of industry experience. Prior to joining EFG, he was responsible for sales and marketing at Mazama Capital Management for 14 years. He previously also held senior relationship management positions at State Street Corporation and U.S. Bancorp. Donald Klotter (born 1964) is a US citizen and holds a BA in Political Science/German Literature from the Clark Honors College, University of Oregon, and an MA in International Business from Columbia University, New York.
