Abby joined Deutsche Asset Management in 2014 with 2 years of industry experience. Prior to joining, Abby served as a research coverage analyst of ETFs and passive mutual funds, primarily focused on income strategies, at Morningstar. She has her BA in Economics from The University of Chicago.

Guillermo Cano
Executive Director, Applied Research

Guillermo recently joined MSCI as Executive Director in the Equity Applied Research Team. He is responsible for working with asset owners on global and factor index strategies.

Prior to joining MSCI, Guillermo held several roles at FTSE Russell including most recently as Director of Alternatively Weighted Indexes for the Americas and Europe. In this role, he worked closely with asset owners and managers on the analysis and implementation of factor and risk-weighted indexes. As Senior Product Manager with Russell Indexes, he led the creation of index products used for benchmarking and passive replication by some of the world’s largest asset owners.

He started his career at J.P. Morgan Chase Capital Markets in New York City where he traded a variety of publicly listed securities.

Guillermo holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Washington and a BA in Music and Business Administration from the University of Miami.

Luke Oliver

Luke Oliver, Head of U.S. ETF Capital Markets for Deutsche X-trackers, is one of the founding members of the U.S. business, joining in 2009.

In this capacity Luke has been a prominent member of the team that manages 40 exchange traded products and $14bn in assets under DBX Advisors, a Registered Investment Advisor. Mr. Oliver’s responsibilities have included portfolio management, product development and is now focused on running capital market liquidity for the growing U.S. business. Prior to joining the DBX business in 2009, Mr. Oliver worked in Deutsche Bank’s award winning Foreign Exchange business in both London and New York.

David Garff, CIMA

David serves as the President of Accuvest Global Advisors. He heads the Investment Committee and Research teams. David’s responsibilities include oversight of the firm’s asset allocation process, CST investment strategy, country selection model and liquid alternatives portfolios. He began his investment career in 1992 with Merrill Lynch, and then spent 10 years as a consultant with Smith Barney, serving the needs of affluent families, Foundations and Endowments. David graduated with a B.A. in Economics and Spanish Translation from Brigham Young University, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance, from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst designation as well as an Alternative Investments Certificate, both taught under the joint auspices of the Wharton School of Business, and the Investment Management Consulting Association (IMCA). David is a frequent conference speaker on the subjects of global investing, ETFs and country selection. He has been featured on TV, radio and in print media with Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox Business, Wall Street Journal, Morningstar and Barron’s. In 2015, David was recognized by IMCA with the 2015 Edward D. Baker III Journal Research Award for his whitepaper entitled Multi-style Global Equity Investing: A Statistical Study on Combining Fundamentals, Momentum, Risk, and Valuation for Improved Performance.
