Calamos’ Recent Launches Aim To Expand Investor Access To Private Credit And ESG

Robert Behan, Chief Distribution Officer, Calamos Investments, joined Julie Cooling, Founder and CEO of RIA Channel to discuss the firm’s recent launch of sustainable equity ETF, SROI and alternative credit interval fund (CAPIX).

In February of 2023, Calamos entered into the ETF space with the launch of The Calamos Antetokounmpo Global Sustainable Equities ETF (SROI).  In partnership with NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, this ETF aims to put a spotlight on ESG within the global equity market.  This ETF will invest in quality growth companies in global developed and emerging markets.  In addition to evaluating firms on quality, growth, and financial metrics, the fund seeks to invest in companies with positive social and environmental benefits.

This June, Calamos doubled down on its mission to expand investor access with the launch of it’s first interval fund. The Calamos Aksia Alternative Credit and Income Fund (CAPIX) is open to all investors, regardless of accredited status, with some share classes available with minimum investments of just $2,500.  The fund offers daily subscriptions and 5% redemptions on quarterly intervals. The private credit offering will invest largely in global private level 3 assets diversified broadly across the private credit arena, including direct lending, mezzanine, distressed, and real asset loans, among others.  The interval fund is managed in partnership with Aksia, a leader in private credit and alternative investments.

Calamos Investments, launched in 1977, manages $35 billion including $16 billion in liquid alternative investments.  Calamos is well known for its expertise in liquid alternatives and convertible bonds.
