Mark M. Goldberg serves as Chief Executive Officer of Griffin Capital Securities, LLC where he is responsible for the execution of the firm’s strategic direction. As a financial services veteran with more than 30 years of experience, Mr. Goldberg previously served as Chairman of Carey Financial, LLC, President of W.P. Carey Investment Management, LLC, Managing Director of W.P. Carey Inc., as well as other senior executive positions at affiliated companies. Before joining W.P. Carey, Mr. Goldberg served as Chief Executive Officer and President of AIG-Royal Alliance, Executive Vice President of SunAmerica Financial Network and President of AIG Securities, Tokyo.

Mr. Goldberg serves on the Executive Committees of the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation and St. Mary’s Healthcare for Children. He was a founding member of the Financial Services Institute and the former Chair Emeritus, Chairman and Board Member of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (IPA). He was the 2016 recipient of the IPA’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his work on behalf of the alternative investment sector.

Mr. Shields founded Griffin Capital in 1995, serves as the Company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and is based in the firm’s headquarters in El Segundo, CA.
