John Mayeron

John joined King in June of 2017 as Director of Business Development. In that role his main responsibility is working with the Registered Investment Advisors and Independent Broker Dealers. John had almost thirty years’ of experience in the Alternative Investment space. At Highland Capital, a Dallas based investment house, he developed their Business Development Corporation (BDC) and REIT. Before that, he headed the Commercial Real Estate Division for Caldwell Banker in Tyler, Texas. John has earned a Series 7 & 63 and a Texas Real Estate license. He graduated from the University of Oregon, and he and his wife of 25 years reside in Dallas, Texas.

Kevin Whipple
Vice President
King Operating Corporation

Kevin returned to the King team in September 2016 and currently serves as the Vice President. He is primarily responsible for business relationship development with broker/dealers, registered investment advisors, and family offices. From 2006-2010 under the King Team, Kevin was the Vice President of Divestitures for King Royalty. His responsibilities included obtaining selling agreements with broker/dealers nationwide, and developing business relationships with their financial advisors. Kevin also had professional tenures as National Director of Marketing and head golf professional position at a prestigious private country club. Kevin’s family has been involved in the oil & gas industry for over 60 years with his father holding many positions with various oil & gas companies, and his mother retired from Halliburton. Kevin attended Oklahoma State University on a golf scholarship where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration- Organizational Administration. During his 4 years on the golf team, they accomplished many team victories including, 3 consecutive 2nd Place finishes at the NCAA National Tournament and finished his career off with a National Team Championship his senior year.

Todd Garner
Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Garner joined King in 2015 to fill the role of Chief Operating Officer. Primarily, he is tasked with the management of corporate finance, capital raising as well as the acquisition and divestiture of both strategic and non-strategic assets. Mr. Garner has been involved in five corporate acquisitions, divestitures, refinancing and capitalization transactions that have totaled more than $100 million. He has overseen the financing, strategy, operational rollout and management of the company’s newly formed SCEF I, SCEF II and SCEF III acreage development programs. He led the financing of the three SCEF programs which culminated in securing a $75 million credit facility to further develop the combined 12,500 net acres. Prior to King, Mr. Garner served as Chief Financial Officer for BrightStone Energy Holdings, LLC, an E&P company with assets located in the Eagle Ford Shale, Austin Chalk and Buda Lime formations of Texas. Mr. Garner also founded Pinnacle Royalties, a non-operated oil and gas company providing 1031 exchange based products to accredited investors. Mr. Garner designed an innovative energy product and successfully sold approximately $13 million within two years of formation. From startup, Pinnacle had $8 million in revenue within two years and paid back all investors within a year of formation. Mr. Garner earned a Masters in Business Administration from Rice University and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from Texas Tech University.
