Avantika Saisekar ESG Product Specialist Northern Trust Asset Management
Avantika Saisekar is a product specialist on the Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) team within Northern Trust Asset Management. Avantika supports ESG innovation and product development across Northern Trust’s array of asset class capabilities specifically in the global institutional market. Avantika has received formal training from the United States Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment (USSIF) on sustainable investing and is CFA ESG-100 certified. Avantika was recently added to the UNPRI Assurance Group focused on transparency, and for advancing accountability in the PRI standards. Avantika is also a member of the Associates Board for the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital. Avantika earned a B.A. in Economics from Claremont McKenna College located in Claremont, California.
Emily Lawrence ESG Product Specialist Northern Trust Asset Management
Emily Lawrence is a senior product specialist of environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing at Northern Trust Asset Management where she is responsible for ESG education and innovation across Northern Trust’s array of asset class capabilities for high-net-worth clients. In this role, Emily oversees the continuous development of the responsible investing capabilities available to our high-net-worth and foundation clients. Collaborating directly with clients, Emily conducts trainings and facilitates discussions on responsible investing concepts, themes and trends through individual meetings, webinars and thought leadership. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Emily managed research production for MSCI ESG Research’s Screening Research and Bespoke Research teams. Joining MSCI ESG Research via KLD in 2007, Emily was responsible for overseeing key data collection, analysis and quality initiatives including acting as a member of the Business Involvement Research Methodology Committee. Emily has also served on the steering committees for the 2013 Access to Nutrition Index and the 2012 Access to Medicine Index. Emily has more than ten years’ experience collaborating with clients to support the development of actionable responsible investing strategies. Emily received her MRes in International Conflict Resolution from the Institut Catholique de Paris, and holds an MSc in European Politics and Governance from the London School of Economics. Additionally, Emily holds a BA in French language and literature from the University of New Hampshire. She is fluent in French.
Bill Thomas National Sales Manager for Mutual Funds and Separately Managed Accounts Northern Trust Asset Management
Bill Thomas is the national sales manager for mutual funds and separately managed accounts. He is responsible for growing Northern Trust’s presence in the intermediary market. He does this by developing the sales team through motivation, mentoring and product knowledge and skills development. Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2014, Bill was the head of distribution for DSC Quantitative Group overseeing all sales and marketing-related activities of the firm’s operations. From November 2011 to July 2013 he was CEO, head of sales for SIP America, a distributor of structured investments to the retail and institutional markets. At SIP America, he was responsible for all aspects of the firm including sales, marketing, product build out and development. Before joining SIP America, Bill was managing director, national sales manager at Allianz Global Investors and in addition served on the executive committee and global product committee responsible for firm strategy and product development. At Allianz, he oversaw the internal and external sales efforts that lead to increases in annualized sales from $9 billion to more than $60 billion in sales. Bill also worked as a divisional sales manager for Allianz Global Investors and PIMCO Funds. Bill began his career at Thomson McKinnon Securities as a financial advisor. Bill graduated with a B.S. degree from Michigan State University and served on the Board of Governors of the Money Management Institute. Bill currently holds the FINRA series 7, 63, 65, and 24 securities licenses.
