Economic Indicator: Durable Goods

What are durable goods?

Durable goods include goods that last three years or more and are not perishable. Examples of durable goods include furnishings, automobiles, toys, electronics and most other consumer products. Durable goods orders are an economic indicator, and tend to lag any significant directional movement in the stock market. The U.S. Census Bureau produces the Advance Report on Durable Goods.
