Economic Indicator: Consumer Sentiment

What is consumer sentiment?

Consumer sentiment is an economic indicator that is measured based on 5,000 household surveys to gauge the general opinion of the U.S. economy. The Consumer Sentiment Index (CSI) is measured and reported monthly by The U.S. Conference Board. Survey questions include consumer questions regarding their financial situation, employment, spending and feelings about the general economy.
